Brainerd March for Our Lives, March 24, 2018

On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets of Washington DC to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today. This will be a national day of action against gun violence. Protests demanding immediate legislative action by Congress and state legislatures will be held in Washington, D.C. and communities throughout the United States. Organized by the newly formed March for Our Lives, the protests will demand legislation prohibiting the sale of assault weapons and high capacity magazines and mandating universal background checks on all firearms sales. (For more information about March for Our Lives, please visit March for Our Lives.)

In Brainerd, a March for Our Lives protest will be held on Saturday, March 24. The protest begins at 2 p.m. with a gathering at Gregory Park. Gregory Park is located at 511 North Fifth Street, Brainerd. There will be a march from Gregory Park to Riverside Elementary School and will return to Gregory Park for a rally with speakers. The rally is scheduled to conclude at 4 p.m.

Brainerd March for Our Lives participants are encouraged to bring signs and posters to the event. The march is hosted by the Crow Wing County DFL Party, the Brainerd United Church of Christ (UCC), Moms Demand Action-MN, and Brainerd Area Coalition for Peace (BACP).
