The Banana Theory

I have a question to be considered. I call it the 'banana theory'. :) Some say I am bananas, but that is irrelevant to the theory. :)

If we all had bananas, but you learned to call it an apple, and I was taught to call it an orange...

And if you were taught to eat it peeled, cooked and mashed, and I ate skin and all....

And if this happened to many people in different ways - some called it a tomato and only cut it in circles with the setting sun; some call it a pickle and eat it standing on their heads.....

And then one day we meet. I tell you the banana is an orange, you tell me it is an apple. I tell you you must eat it skin and all, you are shocked -- only cooked and mashed! Do we even know we are talking about the same thing?

When will we discover we are eating the same thing, in just different ways? Is there a right or wrong way to eat a banana? Is it wrong to call it an orange or an apple or a pickle, or is it still the same thing?

You see how absurd just a banana can be, and yet the same quarrel exists in religions. Do you think God cares what name I use, or is it like the bananas, inside all of us, and at the same time, outside us too - we did not make the bananas. God doesn't mind humor, it is a great thing to laugh at ourselves.

No offense, but sometimes I call 'God' the Big Banana, simply because we should not fight over names and different styles of knowing the same thing. Didn't we all eat bananas in my theory? Of course. Who was right or wrong? I don't know - ask the Big Banana to find this answer.
