Brainerd Area Coalition for Peace and Brainerd Lakes United Environmentalists (BACP-BLUE) held our monthly meeting on Monday, February 3, 2025.   The BACP-BLUE meeting was  held online on the Zoom website. 

1. Review the BACP-BLUE peace vigils held on Saturday, January 11 and Saturday, February 1.
Three people attended on January 11th, and two people attended on February 1st. Weather was a factor on both days.

2. Discuss the ceasefire in Gaza and how it may change BACP-BLUE's plans to hold monthly peace vigils demanding an end to the Gaza War.
Discussion yielded a decision to hold the March vigil from 1-2 p.m. followed by a meeting at 2:30 to discuss future of these vigils. 

3.  Discuss fellow BACP-BLUE member Larry Fisk's proposal for a peace vigil demanding an end to the Ukraine War.
Larry's proposal was shared and briefly discussed. Since it was proposed for the same day at the Back to Basics event, discussion was postponed until March meeting. Dean would like to see information in the proposal cited. 

4.  Discuss Happy Dancing Turtle's Back to Basics event being held in the Pine River-Backus School on Saturday, February 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Pine River-Backus School is located at 319 Murray Ave., Pine River. Forty minutes for the zoom meeting was up so further items were tabled until March meeting. 

Next meeting is March 3, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. via zoom. Agenda and joining information will be sent to the list before that.
